Empowering Youth for a Greener, Cleaner, and Sustainable Pakistan
Pakistan is one of the countries most vulnerable to climate change, yet one of the least prepared to face its consequences. From devastating floods and rising heatwaves to deforestation and pollution, our nation’s environmental crisis has become a social and humanitarian emergency.
Communities are losing homes, farmers are losing livelihoods, and children are losing access to clean air and safe drinking water, all while policymakers and corporations continue to ignore environmental responsibility.
At the Youth Justice Network, we believe climate justice is youth justice.
Our Climate & Environment Department was founded to ensure that Pakistan’s young generation becomes the frontline force for sustainability, ecological awareness, and environmental reform.
We aim to build a movement where young Pakistanis are not just witnesses to climate change but active changemakers, innovators, and protectors of the planet.
To empower youth across Pakistan to take the lead in environmental protection, climate resilience, and sustainable community development, ensuring a future where people and nature thrive together.
To educate and mobilize youth on climate change, sustainability, and green innovation.
To launch nationwide campaigns promoting environmental responsibility.
To engage communities in clean-up, plantation, and recycling drives.
To advocate for policy reforms that prioritize environmental justice and renewable energy.
To integrate climate literacy and sustainability education into youth development programs.
Our most visible and impactful campaign, “Clean Pakistan”, unites youth volunteers across provinces in a mission to restore Pakistan’s beauty.
This initiative includes:
Spree-cleaning events in major cities, parks, and educational institutions.
Public awareness drives about waste management and pollution control.
Plastic-free campus challenges and community clean-up competitions.
The campaign has mobilized hundreds of young volunteers, removing waste, planting trees, and educating citizens on cleanliness as a civic duty.
“Clean Pakistan” is not just about cleaning streets, it’s about cleaning the system, the mindset, and our shared responsibility toward the planet.
The Plant for Peace campaign aims to combat deforestation and promote environmental balance.
Under this initiative, YJN collaborates with schools, universities, and local governments to:
Distribute and plant thousands of native trees each year.
Organize eco-awareness sessions and sustainability workshops.
Engage students in ‘Adopt a Tree’ programs, encouraging them to nurture their planted trees.
By planting peace, we’re planting hope for future generations.
Climate change is not just an environmental issue, it’s a matter of justice and equality.
Our Youth for Climate Justice campaign seeks to:
Hold corporations and officials accountable for environmental negligence.
Advocate for climate policy reform and transparency.
Raise youth voices in national and international climate dialogues.
Build awareness about flood resilience, water conservation, and food security.
YJN believes that the climate crisis affects everyone but the youth will define how the world responds.
Pakistan faces an acute water crisis, with millions lacking safe drinking water.
YJN runs awareness drives and collaborations under its Clean Water Program, focusing on:
Promoting rainwater harvesting and water recycling at local levels.
Partnering with organizations to install clean water filtration systems in underprivileged areas.
Educating youth about responsible water use and conservation habits.
To inspire innovation among young minds, YJN hosts the Green Innovation Challenge, a national competition for youth to propose eco-friendly business models, sustainable technologies, and creative climate solutions.
Winning projects receive mentorship, recognition, and development support from environmental experts and industry leaders.
Our department conducts environmental literacy workshops in schools, universities, and rural areas.
Topics include:
Climate Change & Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)
Renewable Energy & Green Technologies
Urban Pollution & Waste Management
Food Systems & Agriculture Resilience
YJN’s educators ensure that climate education becomes a core part of youth leadership not an afterthought.
YJN is actively forming partnerships with:
UN Environment Programme (UNEP) and UNDP Pakistan for youth-led sustainability initiatives.
Local government bodies for community clean-up and plantation projects.
Environmental NGOs and academic institutions for research, advocacy, and outreach.
Through collaboration, we amplify the youth voice for climate justice across Pakistan and beyond.
